Isaac February 6, 2012

After surgery from a severely slipped disc, working with Renee was essential in getting my agility dog up and moving with confidence. I learned a tremendous amount from Renee, and it was fun to see my dog improve with each session. I believe the first few weeks are the key to full recovery. 5 months later Isaac was back in the show ring, earning 4 AKC masters titles.

Grizzy January 26, 2012

Renee was amazing to work with.

We had multiple issues during Grizzy's time at rehab - a period of 7 months. We initially went because there was no definitive prognosis as to what was causing Grizzy difficulty walking and we hoped rehab may provide some relief. Renee was the one that helped us work through this difficult time and she is the one that, after some time at rehab, realized that something had changed and we needed to go back to the specialist. The result was a removal of Grizzy's hip implant due to infection. As soon as we could post surgery, we went back to Renee for the recovery period to ensure a strong, healthy result.

We are 7 months post-op now and Grizzy is doing fantastic. We have been through other surgeries with Grizzy and this one is by far the best result. I attribute that to Renee's focus on helping him quickly post-op to get back to strength on a pace that he could handle. Should any pup of mine ever need surgery, rehab or simply water workouts and massages, I will go to Renee. She is extremely good at what she does!

Thank you, Renee!!!

Bella  January 16, 2012

I have two German Shepherd dogs, one 3.5 year old male and one 2.5 year old female, Bella.

I've been fortunate enough to have Renee do physical therapy on my little girl twice now, once when she had her first surgery for hip dysplasia at about 6 months of age; and the second for hip dysplasia on the other side a few weeks ago (this time a hip replacement and fixing a fractured femur just below the new implant, caused by an unanticipated surgical complication) is in the process of winding up now.

Renee is extremely knowledgeable, careful and loving; and my Bella knows it, since she reciprocates with love in return. There is no way I can adequately thank Renee enough for everything she's done and is still doing.

I hope neither of my dogs are forced to go through any more big surgeries where PT will be needed. But, if more PT is needed for ANY reason, I won't need to make decisions about who to use as a physical therapist, since I've appointed Renee as our family veterinary Rehab Tech. I also happen to know for a fact that the Vets who cared for my dog feel likewise.

If anyone seeing this note wants to speak with me, I'd be happy to do so (Renee should feel free to give them my phone number), since I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Bella's Dad, Kirk.

Seamus  August 10, 2011

Seamus has continued his water exercising and other therapy with Renee, following his knee surgery performed by Dr. Dujowich at Veterinary Specialty hospital.

It has been such a relief to get our little guy back again. It was very scary for awhile and I really didn't think he would ever come out of the pain and sadness..........but he has since completing his program at PAWSitive rehabilitation.

Seamus is doing so well and we have really appreciated your earnest care and concern in his well being throughout this long process. Both Dr. Dujowich and Renee have been a very valuable healing team and we can't thank you enough for your help and support along the way.

Thanks so much,
Dianne and Jim

Renee Wallis of PAWSitive Rehabilitation provides outstanding canine and feline physical therapy. I have referred many clients and patients to her and have received nothing other than wonderful comments and feedback about their experiences with Renee. Renee is dedicated to her profession, she is extremely thorough and passionate about her work. She has been an excellent communicator, she sends regular therapy updates on our shared patients and lets me know of any changes or concerns that evolve. She uses several different modalities of therapy with a treatment plan custom made for each patient. I am very confident in Renee's abilities and am pleased with her results. I am happy to refer patients to Renee at PAWSitive Rehabilitation!

Indy  October 8, 2010

In June 2010, Indy, our 4 ½ year old lab, suffered a spinal stroke and was diagnosed with Fibrocartilage Embolism or FCE. This illness, left his left hind leg flaccid and nearly useless. After emergency care at two different clinics, the prognosis from the Vets was not really positive. However, both recommended physical rehab saying with some extended care he might get "some" use back. One of the facilities recommended PAWsitive Rehabilitation and Renee Wallis. We contacted Renee and she met with us the very next day. She evaluated Indy's condition and came up with a plan for his rehab care. On her own, she contacted Indy's neurologist and after a month of twice-a-week therapy visits, he regained about 80% use of left hind leg.

While I am no expert on canine physical therapies, Renee used a variety of techniques including, deep massage, electrical stimulation, laser nerve stimulation, and a whole lot of repetitive exercises. She also used Indy's favorite therapy, walking in the underwater treadmill and he has learned a new word, "swimming". Somehow he knew which days he had therapy and he'd follow me around our home until it was time to leave for PAWsitive Rehab.

We were truly amazed to watch his progress, under her loving and professional care. In September 2010, Indy suffered what our vets believe was a second and highly unusual FCE. While all of Indy's hard work was unwound by this second stroke, his spirit was not dampened. Once again and on her own, Renee sent out queries over the Internet to her peer colleagues and other professionals in the field. She came back with all sorts of new information for us. Indy is back at his two-a-week sessions. Progress is slow, but steady and he IS improving once again under Renee's professional care. I cannot thank Renee enough for what she has done for one of the members of our family. I know PAWsitive Rehab and Renee Wallis was the best choice in rehabilitation care for our dog Indy.
