Rehab Manager Renee Wallis, RVT, CCRP, CCRARegistered Veterinary Technician Renee graduated Mesa College in San Diego in 1998 with an Animal Health Technology degree. She became a registered veterinary technician (RVT) in October 1998. Renee worked closely with a board certified surgeon for 8 years assisting in many orthopedic and neurological surgeries. With this experience she became very interested in physical rehabilitation for animals. When the University of Tennessee opened the only certification program for canine rehab, Renee registered right away. Renee completed 6 courses through the University, completed an externship and wrote 5 case reports. This allowed her to sit for the exam which consisted of an oral presentation, a practical exam, and a written exam. Renee became certified in 2005 and has been working full time as a certified rehabilitation practitioner ever since. Three years later the Canine Rehab Institute (CRI), based in Florida, evolved and Renee went back for more training. She completed all three courses and passed each exam. She became certified as a canine rehab assistant in 2010. Currently, Renee is the sole veterinary professional in San Diego county certified from the only two canine physical rehabilitation certification courses in the United States. When you bring your pet for physical rehab you will see Renee's professionalism and knowledge, but also a tremendous compassion for the pets. She truly loves working with the pets and their people too!
